Charity trick-or-eat at Thomson & Bancks

November 6, 2023

This year for Halloween, the staff at Thomson & Bancks held its annual Halloween Bake Off, featuring 11 creepy and creative confections.

The bakes were judged solely on appearance, as the goodies were spread out across Thomson & Bancks’ four offices. The treats also managed to raise £112.62 for the West Mercia Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (WMRSASC), who provide a free, confidential and non-judgemental support service for survivors of rape, sexual violence, abuse and exploitation. The charity does incredibly important work for victims of abuse, and we hope the funds raised will go towards helping them deliver their vital services.

After all votes were counted, the top three monster masterpieces were:

1. “Barbie’s Back” cake by Suzanne Hulett, who took home a tray bake mix, baking tin and Halloween decorations

2. “Bones in the Pumpkin Patch” by Karen Price, who earned a muffin mix, cake cases and scary eye decorations

3. “Having a Break” cookies by Chantal Butters, who won a cookie mix

While the details of the bakes sound spine-chilling, these team members cooked up something sweet for a good cause. Their creepy creativity raised money and awareness for WMRSASC’s essential services, and we can only imagine what frightful delights next year’s Halloween Bake Off will conjure up. But one thing is for certain – our staff know how to turn something spooky into something selfless.
