Until my retirement as a partner, I was the head of the Business Law Department.
I was admitted as a Solicitor in April 1980 having graduated with an Honours Degree in Law from Leicester University in 1977.
After training in Cardiff, I joined the firm in 1982 and became a partner in 1985.
From being a general practitioner “jack of all trades”, in recent years I have specialised in property law, particularly commercial property. I have acted for a number of substantial landlords, land owners and property developers locally and beyond.
Strange as it may seem to some, I actually enjoy the intellectual exercise of drafting complex legal documents. My pet hate is legalise and I always try to draft in a plain style that my clients will understand. Oh that all lawyers would do the same!
After 37 years with the firm I decided to call it a day and retired in July 2019. But my former partners have not got rid of me entirely as I remain as a consultant to the firm, undertaking special projects and passing on the wisdom of my years of experience!
