Injury can unfortunately often occur at our place of work.  Sometimes the injury is resultant from a clear accident for example being run over by a forklift truck. Some injuries are not so obvious are defined not as accidents but as industrial disease. These can include asbestosis and other lung diseases and breathing disorders, repetitive strain injury, stress etc.

What types of work place injuries can I claim for?

How long will my claim take?

Unfortunately, there is no definite time scale to be given. Each claim is different so it is difficult for us to give you a definite timescale. However you can be sure at Thomson & Bancks that we will keep you up to date as much as we can and we will not know anything that you don’t.

How much compensation am I likely to receive after my work place injury or disease?

There are a number of factors that will contribute towards how much you will receive. We will need to consider:

- Whether any time has been taken off work as a result of the accident, resulting in Loss of earnings
- The affect on your everyday life that your injuries have caused. Have your hobbies been affected?

Can I claim compensation for my accident causing injury at work?

Yes, as long as you were not entirely at fault for the accident. Your employer should ensure that you are working daily within a safe environment with safe systems of work. Any equipment which you are provided with should be safe and you should receive the correct training to enable you to carry out your job correctly and safely.
