Now that the Tour de Law competition has finished, everyone at Thomson & Bancks would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who participated in and supported this year’s event! Over the course of two intense days, law firms across the country pedalled their hearts out, raising an incredible £165,000 (and counting!) for breast cancer research and support services, smashing through the original £150,000 target.
At Thomson & Bancks alone, we managed to raise £1,540 and our fit and firing team clocked in a total distance of 723.64km!
We would like to offer our congratulations to this year’s champions, Latham & Watkins, who cycled an impressive 868.19 kilometres – just narrowly beating Willkie Farr & Gallagher by a mere 1.76 kilometres in the final thrilling minutes of the competition! It was an amazing effort from all teams involved, with everyone clocking up a staggering 12,618 kilometres collectively.
We would also like to acknowledge Kirkland & Ellis, who raised the most money during the competition; together they raised an incredible £58,778, which is a new record for a team participating in the Tour de Law!
All of the funds raised will go directly to Breast Cancer Now, helping to support a vital two-year research project. This means that researchers can make breakthroughs faster, tackling some of the biggest challenges in breast cancer. The money will help cover everything from salaries to equipment and running costs – making sure that every penny helps to find new ways to prevent, treat, and, ultimately, cure breast cancer.
We are incredibly proud to have been part of such an inspiring event, and we want to thank everyone – from the cyclists to the donors – for their unwavering commitment and energy. Every kilometre pedalled and every pound raised is making a difference to the lives of those affected by breast cancer.
Together, we have shown what can be achieved when we unite for a great cause. Thank you once again for your support, and if you wish to make further donations, please click here.
